Competition Details

• Maximum length: up to 2,000 words

• ADULTS CATEGORY

• Adults entry fee: £5 per story, to GoFundMe, link below

• Adult 1st prize: cash award of £100

• Two runners up prizes of book tokens

• YOUNG PERSONS CATEGORIES

• 11- 16 yrs, free entry, prize: £25 book token

• 16 – 19 yrs, free entry, prize: £25 book token

• Competition opens: at the Rivers & Moorland Festival event, Ivybridge Bookshop, Friday June 5th

• Closing date: 1st September 2026, judges to be announced

• Adults may enter as many times as they like as long as an entry fee of £5 is paid for each story.

• Please send your name, a contact number and entry by email to southhamsauthors@gmail.com either as a word document, or in the body of the email. All entries will be acknowledged. If you do not receive confirmation within one week, please send again. All names will be removed from entries before judging.

·        Results announced: October 2026 at a local venue

·        The best entries will be printed, with the permission of the author, in an anthology to be published in 2027.

·        The author retains copyright to their story at all times.
