About Ian McConaghy

Ian McConaghy is a Torquay-based writer/artist, who explores the interface between the visual and the narrative.


He set up his first art studio in Bristol in 2012 and joined the North Bristol Writers Group a few years later.


Subjects have included intelligent buildings, genetic engineering, and artificial intelligence, among other things.


Ian has contributed to Anthologies, developing a graphic novel style, mixing drawings and writing.


His first novel was Neuworld, a futuristic thriller, which is available on Amazon. There are further books written in the series and planned for future release: ‘CrashCity’ and ‘Sagan’s Sister.’


His short story, No Hiding Place, appearing in the ‘Grasping the Nettle’ anthology, presents a change in direction – DI Jacqueline Teague used to live in Bristol. She’s recently moved to Torquay, but she can’t hide from her past. 

This new character is being developed for a future novel.
